It sucks when it seems like I spend more time coming up with questions than the artist spends answering them. Not that they were all great questions but I am not in this to provoke or get a harsh reaction (much less a superficial interview) but to find out about the artist. In this case Wrath, the mastermind behind Dodsferd, whose latest album Cursing Your Will to Live is pretty damn good indeed. He answered the questions the Wrath way I suppose. Read on and spread the word!

- Historically speaking, has Greece influenced your approach to music and life in general?

The greatness of Greece as a country and its respectful history, has nothing to do with my music! It has played a big role in other things but not in my music! Only pain, death and disgust upon every stupid living hypocritical cunts can characterize my music! Pure hate towards every retard who thinks he can desecrate and infect my world, Dodsferd!

- What is the purpose of functioning as a one man band? Is it a matter of not being able to find suitable like-minded musicians? Or this simply better suits your modus operandi?

Modus fucking what? Dodsferd belongs to Wrath and Wrath belongs to Dodsferd! I created my own world back in 2001, with pain and a lot of sacrifices! I fought for it and I managed to stay away from all the hypocritical users who tried to harm it! Now, I am still bleeding for this high ideal, which I don't expect from you to understand! Dodsferd will always be a one man band philosophically! I have my own thoughts, which I am not interested in sharing it with any irrelevant future rock star!

- You are quite prolific, what is the ideal state of mind to create so much material?

The failure of mankind, the debasement of humanity, the survival of all these useless leftovers who are trying to dominate others with their stupidity, the everlasting pain from the loss of the capable and dedicated ones. Never stop the madness!

- Some of your early demos were allegedly recorded ‘under strange perverted behavior’, do you care to elaborate? How many things can you do at once? Are you good at multi tasking?

The raw feeling and the dark atmosphere of my early demos cannot be explained in two lines, or two pages! Don't expect to give any explanations about anything I have done! I don't care to elaborate!

- You are a nihilist, so what constitutes Dodsferd’s black metal?

I have my own view of nihilism! I have my own theories and philosophy! Hate, pain and disgust constitutes Dodsferd's black metal! You can also add irony, a lot of irony!

- Humans are the cancer of the world, so Wrath/Dodsferd would be cancer to which human organ?

To every fucking human organ! Does it matter? Dodsferd and Wrath are something that nobody has a clue about them! Honestly, I prefer this situation to stay in that way!

- You have a lot of ‘disgust and hate’ for which particular peoples?

With the stupid ones who think that they can judge everyone and everything! They are just a great nothing and they know it! They pretend that they are something great but they are just fooling themselves! I think you have understood what I am talking about! Hypocritical losers with a want to be clever and smart attitude by criticizing others! I could write you 100 pages about that issue, but I think I have made myself clear!

- If nihilism argues that ‘being is without objective, meaning, purpose, comprehensible truth or essential value’, what is the purpose of Wrath and Dodsferd? Why not just sit on a bench and wait for a tsunami or some shit?

I cannot understand the meaning of your questions! Despite of your provoking attitude I am still answering this interview! Through Dodsferd I am expressing my own view of nihilism! My higher purpose is too important to share it with someone who would not be able to understand!

- How do you see Dodsferd in the black metal plain? (Like positioning, its significance in the BM world, what it contributes?

True Black Metal needs no one's contribution! Dodsferd contributes only to Wrath and Wrath contributes to the greatness of Dodsferd! Time will show the true values of everyone who is involved in this dark art!

- How well rounded are you as a musician? I ask this because first, the riffs are absolutely killer and everything else is pretty competently played, but do you see yourself as foremost a singer or a guitarist or a drummer or what?

I am Wrath from Dodsferd, this is who I am! My inner feelings guide me to create! Also, my inner feelings guide me to destroy the things I have created when it is needed!

- Regarding the vocal department, I like your approach, but it definitely belongs to a school of BM singers that has plenty of practitioners. Do you see a difference in your approach as a singer when compared to other BM vocal staples? Are you happy with your vocal skills?

The only thing that interests me is my own vocals and my own band, music! Comparing my vocal skills with others is more than stupid! I have better things to do!

- I know you don’t follow any kind of trends, and your music is great but truth be told it can’t really be sincerely called original. Pretending black metal has no trends happening at the time what parameters do you work within?

I don't care how you call it! True black metal has no trends! This is the only important thing that counts for me! I never work within any parameters! My own world and my dark soul show me the way of how my music should be! These are mine parameters, if you want to call them like this!

- Your latest Cursing Your Will to Live is filled with great songs. Not to insult you but I seriously doubt that some of those killer riffs are simply the result of hating 'shitfuckers'. Some of the guitars are beautiful and transmit plenty. What feeling would you like to transmit with your riffing? What feelings do they come from?

The feelings of desolation, despair, hate, irony, death, disgust, loss, betrayal, chaos, destruction!

- How long was the songwriting process of Cursing Your Will to Live?

It was approximately two months!

- How as the recording process? How close did it come to the goals you had in mind before recording?

The recording process lasted for more than a month! I recorded everything in an underground studio, in total solitude! I think that I have reached the goals I had in mind before the recordings!

- How does this record fare compared to your previous releases?

My personal propitiation!

- What’s a day in the life of Wrath?

I don't think that my personal life concerns anyone! I can speak only about my music and nothing else! I am not a fucking rock star!

- First record that got you hooked? Please don’t say Kiss. Kiss sucks.

There are a lot of records that got me hooked! Bathory, Venom, Motorhead.!

Again I cannot say because there are a lot of records which are my favorites!
