NDWARFMENT

The Paralympik Sessions
(Duplicate)

The style of this Norwegian band is described by the label as ‘retarded deathgrind’. Which is pretty much kind of funny, and very much sorta true. You have to take this in with a grain of salt. Not because of its extremity or its muffled guitars but because apparently the band insists on being put in the Special People category.  No surprise then that Endwafment  only sing about mongoloids, feces juggling, a bastard breeding daddy, conjoint twins, etc, etc…  Plus, they also sing about all other sorts of shit like that.  Check their artwork, I must admit, the cover for The Paralympik Sessions is great; the Olympic rings have been adorned with stick people in wheelchairs. That’s obviously not the result of retard brainstorming.

Which takes us to the main point, is the music retarded? Perhaps a bit. There is an unfounded school of though that proposes that grind is indeed the stuff of the mentally stupid because of its chaotic extremity and because of the lowbrow mentality of the audience that such noise appeals to. Endwarfment certainly isn’t attempting any new tricks here. So we can assume that they are a bit dumb, or at least lack gray matter on the brain matter. They are merely rehashing chunky shit-like grind, with deep growled vocals, the occasional funny sample, a bit of dwarf porn, a few blast beats and a humorous take that is supposed to offend mostly everyone and engage fans of all things extreme.  We know these dudes ain’t musical dummies though, and for all the simplicity that is contained here, the band counts members of bands as experienced and heralded as DHG and Aura Noir in their ranks.
