FAUST
From Glory to Infinity
(Paragon)

Those have got to be implants. Their perfect roundness is unnatural. Too godly to have blossomed without the aid of a scalp and 2010 years of medical knowledge.  Them twins seem so perked up, them nipples point permanently towards the optimal north. They are perfect, perfection that should never be ensconced.  Their bouncy volume and admirable radius is provocative, like they are claiming to be licked or pinched, whatever this whore prefers. And her neck is covered. Was it not you could see those bones and skin stretched for our luscious admiration.   Her neck is definitely fang-friendly. And how about them brows? Ladies in convents don’t own no eyebrow pluckers. What the fuck!

The death metal of Faust is not as perfect as the anatomy of this lazy lady though. It aspires to be. Obviously. It is so perfectly executed, it’s cocky.  Like a tedious show off stance of ‘let’s see who can cram the most notes in our new song “Pig God Dog”. Yeah, From Glory to Infinity is so finely recorded it lets you appreciate the crazy tarantula finger work of bassist extraordinaire Steve Di Giorgio (Sadus and others) and the mesmerizing skin beating work of Darek "Daray" Brzozowski, the same man who pounded for Vesania and Dimmu Borgir.  …And then some, the songs in this debut are tuned to perfection, so much indeed, this is the least brutal death metal record ever. I guess I can call it melodic death metal, but I would rather go with power death metal instead, because it’s got all the cheese, and then some.

The vocals of Aleister are brutal. Death metal brutal. They are the most death metal aspect of Faust. Aleister may be known to you for his work with Ancient (who were often, pretty terrible) and Abgott; here he growls like a dude that just swallowed a toad and is trying to belch it out. If anyone is going to come to admire From Glory to Infinity is not because of that though, but because of how tuneful it is. The songs are upbeat, with colorful riffs and solos that are as much fun as rainbows and that oddly enough, take more space than the actual riffs. This recording is musically flawless, but some would argue that death metal need not be flawless at all. Fanboys who are into death metal to be awed, help yourselves. Freaks looking for brutality shall go hunting for something more insalubrious.
