Nighnacht – Limb Service (Perversely Grotesque Blackened Cannibal Metal)
OMG yesssssss! I was feeling somewhat depressed by the promos I had sitting here for release that are coming out in the next three weeks. Other than one, already reviewed, the rest sucked. Let me poisoncoat it a bit more. The rest fucking sucked. I can’t recall a week this bad in a long time, but thankfully I happened to notice my pal at Morbid and Miserable Records already dropped a hideous, obtuse chunk of anti-metal that features on mic the vocalist of Nunslaughter. After like two seconds listening I was like, yeah, let’s do this one. I normally don’t review what’s already passed, but, like, listen to this shit, okay?
There’s nowhere I can really begin with Limb Service. Pick a track, any track, and the amount of perversion (in the religious sense) coming out of this will complete erase any sense of comfort in any metal genre you may have enjoyed prior. Nighnacht pervert riff delivery, they pervert drum tempo, they pervert bass presence, and goddamn the vocals are so perverted you’ll become a sexual and religious deviant in mere seconds. I was surprised at the amount of manipulation in this album. You completely have no idea what’s coming next, and Nighnacht, throughout the full run of Limb Service, even perverts their own perversions. A complete destruction of all metal that has come before to the extent that nothing can come after. A masterpiece of the grotesque.
