Acid Mass – Worship (Death Biker Blackened Thrash)
Practically everything I could want out of blackened and or death and or speed thrash is present herein. Creepy skeleton, bleedy knife, big eyeball, skeleton priest, pentagram necklace, cobra, some other snakey, forbidden tomb (with spiderwebs), chains in logo; yes this is just the kind of stuff I’d like to Worship. Attitude can really sell a band if it’s done right, which, let’s face it, Acid Mass is doing. A one-man cemetery-photo thrashing spit pile, he’s been doing his thing for an extremely short period of time, but the output is already amazing.
Within a mere year we have singles, two EPs, and with Worship, two full-lengths like holy shit. Even more impressive is he’s doing this with, as far as a quick bit of research shows, no presence in the metal community prior. He seems to be a lurker at most, but that’s about to change, drastically, if it’s the case. I had a slew of shat promos for July but this one stood out weeks ago when it first came in. Darkly nuclear, and with devilish skill in its creation, Worship is easily one of the best in these hot months, regardless of the rest of the garbage I had to compare it to. The riff focus is vibrant, with lots of bite, and the presence is diabolic. Vinyl will be a later release, but do consider supporting this sick grave robber with the voice of a biker dying from extreme road rash. That will make sense when you hear him.
