Sanctuarium – Melted and Decomposed (Supernaturally Tainted Death Metal)

 

Well this is nice, got another album here that comes as pictured and also as titled! Nice! But, first off, listen here assholes, for the love of god, and I mean anyone, not just this band, include cover artist info in the promo! I had to spend a good half hour or so figuring out who in the hell hallucinated this one, but luckily I know how to work that Google. Anyway, now that I’ve covered that, let’s get into the realm of supernaturally tainted death metal with the latest from Spain’s Sanctuarium, Melted and Decomposed.

   

Have you ever felt as such? Have restless, infected spirits invaded your dreams? Well, Sanctuarium has exactly that kind of sound so prepare to be covered in unholy undeath. Melted and Decomposed is only their second full-length, but shows a wide breadth of development in only a single year. This time the band opted for a smothered sound, which works brilliantly to their advantage. Creating the kind of occult disease that is their namesake required less clarity, and more uncertainty. Recorded within the empty husk of a desiccated corpse’s stomach, Melted and Decomposed sounds as though it was crafted by tortured shades that barely remember being human. At times slower than your heart prior to birth with vocals gasping for air, but pulling in ectoplasm, this one will haunt you, and that’s as plain as I can explain it.
