Sněť – V Bažinách Vědomí (Deeply Rooted Blackened Gore Punk)
Yes, I finally figured out a name for the style of these sickos. Czechia’s Sněť have had my heart (sorry ladies) since I first heard their last full-length, and the romance continues with their latest offering, V Bažinách Vědomí. I could stop there but allow me to be partially verbose, if you please. Sněť, […]

Candarian – Trepanación (Idiosyncratic Gore Metal)
Lol at first this band was called “Canadian” and I was like WTF have too many cool and “brutal” terms been used that we have to desperately reach at anything including random country names? Then I realized there was an ‘R’ in it and I can’t read. Now, getting into the actual subject at […]

Funelore – The Dissolution of Consciousness (Abandoned Cemetery Funeral Doom)
I chose this one this week not because it was all I had left that was good (actually it was), but technically because it deserved it, and that’s rare with bands of this type. I’ve always been a fan of the funeral subgenre within the greater expanse of doom, primarily because it’s enjoyable to […]

Decrepit Altar – Egregious Defilement (Suffocating Mausoleum Doom)
Promos were pretty thin this week, but don’t think I’m settling. Decrepit Altar had my attention regardless of what else was in the queue. This Croatian quartet came out of nowhere with this debut EP, though it should be noted they have experience in several bands you’ve likely never heard of. Regardless, I can […]

Trollcave – Adoration of the Abyssal Trespasser (Odious Funeral Death Doom)
I love when bands do shit like this. Calling this an EP when it’s over the standard time limit, lol. And making it only two tracks so at first glance you’d think you were looking at a new 7″ drop. Spain’s Trollcave came under my radar somewhere in the past, I don’t remember when, […]

Sanctuarium – Melted and Decomposed (Supernaturally Tainted Death Metal)
Well this is nice, got another album here that comes as pictured and also as titled! Nice! But, first off, listen here assholes, for the love of god, and I mean anyone, not just this band, include cover artist info in the promo! I had to spend a good half hour or so figuring […]

Carcinoid – Encomium to Extinction (Smarty Pants Grave-Splitting Death Doom)
Well this one surprised me now, didn’t it? Just the other day I was saying how Australia’s Werewolves pretty much satisfies everything you’d need in death metal from the country, but now I decided to add to the list Carcinoid, which opts for the death doom angle, with some cocky smartypants attitude. On the […]

Undergang – De syv stadier af fordærv (Death Metal Sewage)
For some reason I never got into these guys until this EP. Perhaps they were too messy, their production too hollow, their approach too typical if you’ve heard gore metal style already, I really don’t know. I don’t have an excuse really, sorry. But hey, now I’m on board so that’s cool. Things picked […]

Décryptal – Sabazios Culte (Cacophonic Death Metal)
Well these guys are certainly a spooky mystery. I have no clue where they came from but with the amount of cacophony they wretch I should! I know they’re form Canada, but figuratively speaking with the type of eerie, dragging death metal these guys play it’s only from the ground they could have possibly […]

Astriferous – Pulsations from the Black Orb (Existential Death Metal)
It’s a sad day when I realize that this is only the second band from Costa Rica I’ve ever reviewed. Why sad? I just think it is, okay? Isn’t that enough? So Astriferous can be proud they’ve achieved the honor of second band from their home country on this very site. I mean that […]
