Ataraxy – The Last Mirror (Funereal Death Metal, Yes That Is A Word)
Well if this isn’t an interesting name for a band with this kind of sound. I mean, I certainly appreciate that the type of calm this band is referencing is the dreadful kind that comes only with death. Wow, this is like true funereal death metal fools. Did you not know that is a […]

Death Warmed Up (New Zealand Splatter Blu-ray)
Severin strikes again with another pulsating package of finely curated sleaze to please that’s ready to knock your dick into the dirt. We’re talking an undiscovered classick of epic proportions, something guaranteed to pop your lids and make you scream until you like it. Welcome to Death Warmed Up, you’ll thank me later. No […]

Vorare – The Drainage Rituals (Dark Industrial Auricular Violation)
Another late entry into the review pile be this one, which I only decided to cover because I so rarely get good experimental stuff. Hell, I can’t even remember the last time I received any at all! But, anyway, what makes good experimental good? It’s rather simple, but perhaps we should start with what […]

Writhing Shadows – S/T (Seething War-Like Death Metal)
Now wasn’t this a nice little war-like surprise? Sometimes when I’m running through promos stuff gets missed, or, in this case, stuff is sent late and almost gets deleted for that fact. But the cover, which hearkens back to 1970s sci-fi sorcery, swords, and guns themes, made it worth at least a quick listen. […]

Zana – Antoneta Kastrati (Kosovan Brutal War Trauma Film)
Kosovan film has remained largely marginal in spite of attempts to expand its market. This is pretty much the curse of most Eastern European cinema post-Soviet power, leaving the curating critic with a difficult path. Without notoriety, how can one find the gold? You like, just have to check out their stuff, bro. Scraping […]

Abythic – Eden of the Doomed (No Blue Balls Haunting German Death Metal)
Dang, shit’s tight, and strangely there aren’t many reviews for it even though I’m a bit late on this one. Plus I normally avoid EPs, mainly because I rarely see the point in them. It’s like, you got a few good songs together, why not just fooking wait until you have more and let […]

Holocausto Cannibal – Crueza Ferina (Dang Son Portuguese Groove Grind)
Lot let’s see if Facebook let’s me promote this one. I didn’t even look at the band name at first, thinking it was some vegan post-hardcore thing that tries to shock by showing real animal violence, but then I was like, oh, wait, nah this is like some Portuguese grind or something and I’m […]

Vaamatar – Medievalgeist (Plaintive Cries US Black Metal)
Well that’s a black metal logo, right? But that art…something…more to it…something sinister and plaintively classique perhaps? Whatever that vague feeling is, I knew it was going to totally crush. But wait, this is USBM, which sometimes like to think it crushes but makes us blushes from embarrassment? Not in this case. LA’s Vaamatar, […]

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt (Just Slaughter Everything Dark Battle Royale)
As we all painfully wait for Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 to finally freaking be released, us vampire fanatics had to contend with admittedly good text-adventures on Steam, the news of an upcoming, and looking average RPG (Swansong) and, hmm, wait, a fooking battle royale just crush everything game? I get to use vampire […]

Mutilatred – Determined to Rot (Like What Do You Want Exactly Brutal Death Metal)
Well I took my time on this one, breaking my mantra of (usually) no reviews after release date, also of reviews of stuff that will totally blow your mind. But in my defense I already had this one ready to go, needed to listen to it more, and the connection at the place where […]
